Acting President in dialogue with Niger Delta

Acting-President-in-dialogue-with-Niger-Delta.jpgIn Bayelsa now, as we continue FG's dialogue with our Niger Delta oil communities. I have come today on behalf of the President, & C-in-C

I am here with cabinet colleagues & heads of relevant agencies to propose a new vision, signposting a new era to our people in N-DeltaActing-President-in-dialogue-with-Niger-Delta.jpg

We must not allow anyone to persuade us to destroy investments, or pollute our environment to prove a point or to get a few benefits.

That is cutting our nose to spite our face! We must make haste. We must move quickly. Day by day the world is moving away from oil.

For many years we heard US, our major oil buyer, developing shale oil, we did nothing. Today America does not buy a drop of oil from us.

We must focus on how to ensure that people see the benefits of the land's wealth. This new vision will define the future of the region

7 Signs You’re Not Drinking Enough Water

7-Health-Signs-You’re-Not-Drinking-Enough-Water.jpgStaying hydrated is important for maintaining your health.

As a matter of fact, healthy human body is made up of over 70% water; many of us still do not drink a sufficient amount of water daily.

There are few things in the world more refreshing than an ice cold glass of water. Maybe it's the lack of flavor that makes us deny ourselves an essential natural resource, while inadvertently damaging our bodies.

Most of the time we are simply not drinking enough water, however excessive sweating, blood loss, diarrhea, and fever are some conditions that lead to dehydration.

Here are seven signs from your body that let you know when you need more water daily.

1. Dry Skin - This is an early sign of dehydration, which might be a precursor for a severe health issue.

Not drinking enough means little or no sweating; this causes the body to retain toxins and salt normally excreted through the skin.

It also affects the skin's ability to shed dirt and accumulated oil; drink more water to stave off acne breakouts.

2. Dry Mouth - Water lubricates the mucous membranes in the throat and mouth; it keeps your mouth moist long after taking a drink.

3. Headaches - At times this might be a way of the body informing you it needs more water. Since the brain is a top priority in the body, water from the blood is used by the brain. This eventually affects oxygen intake for the brain and leads to a headache.

4. Loss of Muscle Mass - Fitness experts always advise drinking water before, during and after a workout. Muscles are made up mainly of water; this means the less water in the body, the less muscle mass.

5. Digestive Problems - Dehydration causes the strength and amount of mucus in the stomach to reduce, this may lead to the accumulation of stomach acid. This eventually leads to indigestion and heartburn.

6. Fatigue - Feeling disoriented and tired when you are dehydrated are warnings. When fatigue sets in, we just reach out for another energy drink or coffee to get an energy boost.

When really a glass of water is the best choice; coffee and energy drinks will long term lead to further dehydration.

7. Dry Eyes - Your level of hydration affects more than your mouth. Without water in the body, your tear ducts dry up, some blood-shots formed in the eyes are a result of dehydration.

6 Business Lesson To learn From APC led Politics

6-Business-Lesson-To-learn-From-APC-led-Politics.JPGPolitics in Nigeria is now a business

Imagine Nigerians as investors and the Buhari led APC Government as an entrepreneur seeking funding, here are six business lessons every entrepreneur or fund seeker must learn from our ongoing experiences as a nation.

1. Under promise and over deliver- Many times in a bid to get funding and impress investors, we over promise and then have challenges delivering the promises when we eventually get the funding.

Failing on a promise goes to the root of trust. From the failed graduate job seekers allowance to paying 23million graduates 5,000 Naira monthly, reducing pump price to 45 Naira per litre and stabilising the Naira which currently stands at 500naira to one dollar, entrepreneurs should learn from Buhari led APC Government's promises.

2. Make realistic promises: When you eventually identify the promises you want to make, ensure it is based on realistic need and risk assessments because integrity is key to promise making.

Two years into the APC led Government, there is an obvious difficulty keeping to promises made. As entrepreneurs, always check your fact and be sure you can deliver. Learn from Buhari.

3. Quit whining about the problem, present your solution: So imagine me constantly reporting to my investors that I'm unable to do anything because the government isn't building infrastructure and providing for pregnant women? Imagine me repeating this excuse consistently for two years even after receiving funding?

Investors already know what the problem is. You've told them severally in your application for funding and countless times thereafter. It's also the the reason you got the funding. So why are you still whining about the problem? Why not get moving and deliver on the solutions you promised investors? We all know PDP government looted us blind but this isn't about the PDP, this is about the APC Government and delivering on its promises.

Learn from Buhari.

4. In your team, competence should trump loyalty- One thing investors are interested in is the constitution of your team and you should work to ensure you put together a competent team.

If you keep focusing on loyalty based on tribe, past relationships and other inconsequential factors, you will find yourself moving around with dead weights and defending the indefensible.

5. The courage to change or amend a failed idea or policy- Changing a failed idea or policy midway isn't weakness, it is strength and the investors will admire you for the courage to do that.

It's okay if economic policies or other policies aren't working. The Government shouldn't be ashamed to admit that the policies aren't working and put forward a better thought out policy.

Learn from Buhari.

6. Criticism is a type of feedback, embrace it- Sometimes, just like some Nigerians wanted to protest against president Buhari, investors will disagree with some steps, ideas or action we intend taking or have taken. We must respect differing views and opinions, understanding clearly that criticism is also a type of feedback and we must embrace it.

We've got two more years left of this government and I'm hoping entrepreneurs will have some positive lessons to learn as we go along.

Have a great week everyone.

Much love,#NationParrot

Hints for Christians

Hints-for-Christians.jpg I have decides to write this gist  post concerning the controvesy going on in Nigeria interms of the christian believe

This is just 10 hints you need to know

1. Stop praying for your enemies to die. You're not Boko Haram, ISIS or a psychopath. Your "enemies" are often your spouse, you parents, your siblings, your family, your friends, your neighbours, your co workers, your country men... If they all die, who will be left to cope with you?

2. Stop judging people. It's petty. You're a sinner too in somebody else's religious worldview. You eat pork, don't you? To a Muslim, you are a sinner. He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone.

3. Stop praying for unmerited favour. It is fraudulent. Ensure that you merit every favour you pray for. If your son studies well and another child who never studies does better than he in class every time because the teacher is always rigging the results, how would you feel? "Unmerited favour" is a huge part of the reason why our country is corrupt, inefficient and backward. Merit your favour.

4. Do not protect shady practices because your pastor is involved. Let everyone be accountable to everyone. Let husbands and wives be accountable to each other on how family resources are utilized. Let political and religious leaders be accountable to those whom they lead. There is nothing wrong with being anointed. But there is a problem if an anointed is shouting "touch not my anointed" when told to be accountable.

5. Stop disturbing people's sleep with loud speakers. If they are interested in your message, they will look for your church. That they are sleeping at home means sleep is their priority at the moment.

6. Stop scaring people with hell fire. If your message is true and inspiring, you don't have to bring drama and ojuju calabar into it. A beautiful message is beautiful in and of itself. No need for fear and threats. Telling people they will burn in hell is not a message of love. It is a message of terror. It nauseates many people.

7. Stop disturbing people in buses in the name of bus evangelism. Imagine if Muslims start shouting Allahu Akbar with megaphones and Sango worshippers are shouting eriwooo ya! all at the same time in the same bus? Allow people to enjoy the peace they paid for. Allow the driver to concentrate.

8. It is possible for people to be good, decent and hard working citizens without being Christians. Judge people by their characters. Not by their religions or denominations.

9. People don't become Bill Gates or Dangote by typing Amen on Facebook and WhatsApp. They get educated, learn a trade, excel at their jobs and invest. Prosperity is not just for Christians. It's for every citizen who works hard and works smart.

10. People don't get smart by reading just one book. They read plenty books. Plenty. When you're asked your opinion about the world, quote from different books. Not just one book. That's why you didn't do CRK alone in secondary school. Quote the appropriate book for the appropriate question
